I heard about you in the other room
I heard about you, you were talking out of tune
As I recall it, its unclear who was chasing who

As I remember I loved you like a fool
As I recall it we were called a small town cool
As I recall it, its unclear who's impressing who

I tried living without it
Well maybe its so
First love is the sweetest

Its not a secret bodegas and the bars
Its not a secret we all know who we are
As I recall it, its unclear who's outguessing who
I tried living without it
Well maybe its so
First love is the sweetest

On the Road

BRUCE MUCKALA lead & backing vocals, acoustic guitars - PAUL HAGY electric guitars - RON BRAULT backing vocals - JAMIE LANG Hammond organ - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

Seven days in the westbound lane
Seven days through Canadian plains
Doesn't matter what she might do she's leaving
Seems she's only cruising through

Now she's headed for Saskatchewan
Doesn't matter what road she's on
Making time its no surprise she's leaving
The same old look in her eyes

On the road she rides a Harley Davidson
On the road she claims the eyes of everyone
On the road she aims to make her life go faster and faster

She'll hit the rockies in a day or two
Never telling what she's been through
Fuego cigars and her whiskey neat she's leaving
And grass don't grow beneath her feet

Heading out to the western shore
She'll make Vancouver in a week or more
What goes around well it comes around she's leaving
And there's no one to slow her down

Any Time Anywhere

Black or white or shades of gray
I hardly know which to choose these days
See the miles go flashing by
You think we ever knew why

We had a fire in our souls
Every motion seemed like arms control
We learned to run, even run away
Its just the way children play

And I remember you always took a chance
I remember you'll always be my friend
Every time I've gone away you still were here
But I'll be with you any time, anywhere

See the stars, see the setting sun
We closed the door in the long run
Our book of secrets has more pages now
We lost some pages somehow

We used to ride through the countryside
Sing every song that we knew that we would like

And I remember you always took a chance
And I remember youll always be my friend
And I remember these memories won't end
Every time I've gone away you still were here
But I'll be with you any time, anywhere

It Takes Me Back
Copyright © 2017 by Bruce Muckala

BRUCE MUCKALA lead & backing vocals, acoustic guitar, piano - PAUL HAGY electric guitars - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

You can make all the changes that you want
You can make things flower, my savant
Cuz it's that time of year
Sunlight's coming through our house
Its all right my dear
It'll be all right
In the morning through the mist
There's a memory taking me back
Everything you do it takes me back

We can watch all the raindrops coming down
We can watch them splatter on the ground
And when the sky is clear
And moonlight's coming near our house
It'll be all right my dear
It'll be all right
In the morning through the mist
There's a memory taking me back
Everything you do it takes me back

Didn't take much, you sweet go-getter
Didn't take long to see it through
And I believe you're just enough to make me feel better
Its a memory taking me back

Restless Mind
Copyright © 2017 by Bruce Muckala

BRUCE MUCKALA lead lead & harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, electric piano - PAUL HAGY electric & baritone guitars - AL PERKINS pedal steel guitar - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

How long is this gonna take 'til I'm rescued
How long is the rain gonna be on the menu
How I miss your company
My restless mind never lets me be free

The stars in the sky, they've been no consolation
I was right as rain now I need medication
Don't even play my guitar
My restless mind only takes me so far

Saving time is all that I thought that I could do with the best of them
Never once in all that time did I ever think of losing you

Tell me why do the ones who are least in some need
Remain upright always land on their feet
Another reason to say
My restless mind only takes me away

Close the door, slam the drawer, its all that I can do in the meantime
Turning back the hands of time I was so in love with you

How long am I gonna need crucifying
My mind's on the blink and its so mystifying
It's sure to leave me a scar
My restless mind only takes me so far

Mr. Robin

BRUCE MUCKALA lead & backing vocals, acoustic guitar - PAUL HAGY electric guitars - AL PERKINS pedal steel guitar - CHRIS AMES acoustic guitar & backing vocals - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

Mr. Robin sitting on my window pane
Singing that happy song again before the sun comes up
Reminding me of my woman
And how lonely it is to be without her now.

Woman, I just don't know what to do without you
If its left up to me I'd come running back to you

From my window I can hear the whistle of the train
Rolling down the tracks again and tears come to my eyes
And I cried out for my woman and pray for the warmth all around me again

In my dreams I can see you there running to me
Coming to free my mind from all the sorrow and the pain
But now that I'm without you well I don't rightly know if I'll ever be the same

This World
Copyright © 2017 by Bruce Muckala

BRUCE MUCKALA lead vocal, piano, acoustic guitar - PAUL HAGY electric guitars, percussion, programming - JAMIE LANG Hammond organ - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

There's such joy in this world to be found with you
And there's such joy in this world, heaven knows its true
River running 'neath the ridges of these hills like a silver thread
Past the horizon above the language of what lies ahead
No, you can't compare what you're doing
'Til you do what you should
You can spend your whole life trying

Don't lose your sense of this world like a chord with no sound
And don't lose your place in this world, I know you'll come around
All the stories and the songs you learned by heart keep you safe and true
Don't let this world bring you down when no one hears what you do
No, you can't compare what you're doing
'Til you do what you should
You can spend your whole life trying

Just how big is this world, I haven't got a clue
And why do we spin around from your point of view
While we circle and the miles go flashing by we're still safe on the ground
If you get lost please don't worry, I'll be here, I'll be around
No, you can't compare what you're doing
'Til you do what you should
You can spend your whole life trying

Leavin'
Copyright © 2017 by Bruce Muckala

BRUCE MUCKALA lead & backing vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitars, piano, electric piano, harmonica - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

Leavin' all my blues at home no need to be alone or go astray
Lately all the time I need it's enough indeed to find a place to stay
I was lost I was biding time, everything thing in monochrome
I was told that you're who you love, but we all like being safe at home
Leavin' restless days behind thinking I might find another way

Leavin' all those memories they're no good for me, its nothing new
Making space between the lines, its genuine, I'll enjoy the view
Breaking waves all around my head, skim the surface now and then
I been told life's a mystery and those days will never come again
Leavin' restless days behind thinking I might find another way

I been told life's a mystery and it ain't like this happened all before
Leavin' restless days behind thinking I might find another way

My Own JoEllen

BRUCE MUCKALA lead & backing vocals, acoustic guitars, electric piano, organ - PAUL HAGY electric guitars - AL PERKINS pedal steel guitar - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

There's a place where I used to go, it never bothered me before
Sailboats glide 'cross the water and I'm a sailor on the shore
And I will miss your sweet smile
I will miss your kind sweet heart
Won't you please tell me how
My own Jo Ellen
What led me to this now

Wrapped around the blues and the grays there's a picnic by the park
Kids run round, race in circles, you never took it to heart
And how you laugh, then you sigh
Funny how it falls apart
Won't you please tell me how
My own Jo Ellen
What led me to this now

Fly down the wind
We'll never be older than then
Fly down the wind
Looks like it's time I leave again

Packed my bags with old memories, take 'em with me when I go
Round my heart there's a bandage, feels like gravel in my soul
And I will miss how you tilt your head
I will miss your lovely face
Won't you please tell me how
My own Jo Ellen
What led me to this now

Don't Shoot
Copyright © 1978, 2017 by Muckala/Muckala

RUCE MUCKALA lead vocals, acoustic guitar, piano - PAUL HAGY electric guitars - CHRIS AMES backing vocals - PERRY WINDECKER backing vocal - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums - HALEY & MARIN handclaps & fingersnaps

I had a dream about you the other night
I was looking down a barrel you were looking down the sight
I fell to my knees as I reached for the sky
A squeeze of the trigger and I was sure to die

Don't shoot, it's only me
Don't shoot, have pity on me
Don't shoot, I never meant it to be
Please, please have pity on me

I was sweating when I woke, I was chilled to the bone
A shadow passed my bed yet I knew I was alone
I remember the day I was blinded by rage
In the arms of a stranger I sent you to your grave

When it's dark in my room I don't want to go to bed
Tossin' and turnin' with those visions in my head
I know that you're there, I can hear you at night
Moanin' and creepin' when I turn out the light

Vagabond Parade
Copyright © 2017 by Bruce Muckala

BRUCE MUCKALA lead & harmony vocal, electric piano - CHRIS AMES acoustic guitar - PAUL HAGY electric guitars - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

Driving slow through the night
Disbelieving all the things that I been told
Feel like leaving everything on the dark side of the road
But they're bound to me like the weight of gold
All the clouds they gone black
Miles ahead and miles behind they still unfold

I believe there's gonna be another south summer wind
In time for the memories to fade
And I'm gonna see where the wild life begins
In this vagabond parade

Nothing kills my appetite
For the healing that a smile returns to me
When the scenery fades to black in a movie's final scene
Its hard to see what the words can mean
Just your old used to be
Now you're telling all the world you set me free

Thinking hard with all my might
Now there's nothing I recall rings a bell
Plain to see life goes on and I learned my lesson well
And these highway lines they repeat farewell
Say goodbye to all of that
You're the one that I thought I knew so well

Northwood Rambler
Copyright © 2017 by Bruce Muckala

BRUCE MUCKALA lead & backing vocal, acoustic guitar, piano, tambourine - CHRIS AMES backing vocals - RANDY LANDAS bass - PETE GENEROUS drums

Every time I take a look at you I get a thrill
Elm and willows all around your house I see them still
See you dancing in the rain by the river
After all they were made for someone like you

Northwood rambler
Moving through the pines
Northwood rambler
Your sun always shines

Stay the day, spend the night, stay for hours
Do what we like, no intentions of what to do
Never trade away a single minute
No one could make me leave here without you

Can't remember such a fine sensation
No one could ever take the place of you
